Amazing food and atmosphere. Great bourbon selection and the food is top notch. Only thing that keeps it from 5 stars was the really slow and indifferent service. I don't mind waiting on good food, but we were sat and then left alone for over 10 minutes without even a greeting. Eventually our server took drink orders and then another lengthy disappearing act. There's only a few tables in the restaurant and while there were several servers there, our server still couldn't be bothered to check in or offer refills.

Variety of menu items and an abundance of adult beverages- unique, casual and excellent! Service was attentive and accommodating and all of the items we tried were excellent. Worth the excursion!

My son & I dined at the Stave restaurant on Fri 6/28/24 around 6ish. We didn't make a reservation but we got in right away. The ambiance was great, service was excellent. We both got the blackened catfish served on cheese grits & collard greens. Both my son and I loved this dish. We live in Ohio & my son said he would drive 2 hrs for this dish. I believe they had just about every bourbon you could possibly want including flights. The burnt orange & brown sugar old fashion was awesome. Several of my friends visit the bourbon trail & I will definitely be recommending this restaurant. It's off the beaten path just far enough to be away from the main drag. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere, but limited seating if the weather is cruddy, so get there early. Food was great and the drink selection was incredible. Try a bourbon flight! I had the fried chicken sandwich with honey and it was excellent. Pimento cheese on the side since they put a lot on the sandwich.

Absolutely love this place as a stop to eat when touring Woodford and Castle & Key. Their menu is simple but you can count on every item being delicious, and they have a great bar. Our server was awesome as we were a large group and in a hurry, she was very accommodating. She even pointed out the added gratuity so we didn't double tip, classy.

My son was bragging about the place. We was in area at lunch time. We had a very good meal. Looks like in warm weather the outside area looks really cool. The mixed drink menu is huge. Everyone was friendly....

The Stave makes me think of Grandmas home cooking but elevated! I would recommend you make reservations! We didn't, but it was an early dinner and they sat us. They had a lot of outdoor seating, some indoor seating and bar seating. With that being said, there are a lot of flys, but this is expected with the outdoor/indoor seating flow. We tried the pulled pork and hoe cake, which our waitress recommended. They were delicious!! For my entree I ordered the fried green tomato and pimento grilled cheese. I loved it, the toast was cut thick and everything worked! Because I am not from the south and don't get grits often, I ordered the cheese grits, which I also loved. They had a lot of different flight options for bourbon, and if you don't like bourbon they had some other options like wine flights and a cocktail list.
